About Erik Schutzman

Erik Schutzman

Erik has been an artist since he was 3 years old. He won his first art contest in the first grade, winning first place in the school district art competition against 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. While in 10th grade he was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts. He was among a few dozen students out of over 2,600 chosen to attend college level courses in the summer of 1986. Erik has a BFA from Edinboro University. He has had pieces accepted into several local and national art shows. His inspirations include Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Francis Bacon, Edward Hopper, Ned Smith, and N. C. Wyeth. His style is a combination of post-impressionism, realism and cubism.
